Do I need an account?
No. The basic LumeDocs experience opens directly in the editor and saves documents in your browser.
Where are my documents stored?
By default, they are stored locally using your browser's IndexedDB. Clearing site data, using private mode or changing devices can remove or hide those local documents.
Does LumeDocs use AI?
The core editor does not force AI features into your writing experience. The goal is a calm workspace where you remain in control.
Can it replace Microsoft Word?
For many everyday documents, yes. Very complex Word files, advanced collaboration, macros and specialized publishing workflows may still require other software.
Is LumeDocs finished?
LumeDocs is currently a public beta. It is ready for everyday use, but compatibility issues and bugs may still appear.
